If your machine is making a grinding sound or the axis movement is moving sporadically such as moving slowly, shaking back and forth, etc, please check the white molex connectors on your X or Y motor.
If there is any burning or melting wires in the connector, this indicates a short.
If you find shorting, you can fix this by cutting off the white molex connectors to gain access to the wires. You want to then strip back some jacket on the wires and match up each colour properly with the remaining wire. You will connect these like coloured wires together with butt connectors which completes the connections of the motor again. If you find the main wire is hard to get any length out of, you may need to try and pull some more length out of the cable track that it is housed in.
Please use butt connectors for a solid connection. These are a good option because you can just crimp the wires into the butt connectors and not have to use any solder.
Once the butt connectors have been crimped onto the matching wires, it should essentially look like this (wire colours may differ):
Test you axis movement now and see if this has solved the problem.
