Establishing The Machines Connection To A Computer

1. In order to establish connection with your computer and machine, you must first download the drivers on your computer to achieve compatibility. The link below will open the Windows Driver Installer (VCP & D2XX), install and run the application and give full access to this driver.

2. In the table below are the laser models and axes work area dimensions. Reference these for use in Step 3.

3. In the table below are 2 different ways to connect your Mira or Nova machine to your computer through Wifi or USB plug in. Please follow the steps to establish connection using either one or both ways, which henceforth would create 1 or 2 select able devices and ways to connect to the machine.


WiFi ConnectionUSB Connection
  1. Press the “Device” button in the bottom right corner of LightBurn
  2. Press “Create Manually
  3. Select “Ruida” as the controller on the list
  4. Select “Ethernet/UDP
  5. Enter the machines IP address, located on the machines controller in the "Z/U" menu, "IP Config+" setting.
  6. Name your device (i.e. “Mira/Nova WiFi”)
  7. Enter the machines dimensions (X and Y) as according to its model.
  8. Select the Origin of the machine to the rear right (top right circle) or as desired.
  9. Press "Finish"
  10. Select the device created in LightBurn from the device drop down tab
  11. Connect your computers Wifi network to the machine, commonly named as the machine, it will take about thirty seconds to connect.
  12. Move/jog the machine (X or Y)  to establish connection.
  1. Connect the computer and machine using a USB cable connection in the machines "USB" labelled port.
  2. Press the “Device” button in the bottom right corner of LightBurn
  3. Press “Find My Laser
  4. Click “next” and select "Ruida - serial/USB"
  5. Name your device (i.e. "Mira/Nova USB")
  6. Verify the machines dimensions (X and Y) as according to its model. (this should auto populate)
  7. Select the Origin of the machine to the rear right (top right circle) or as desired.
  8. Press "Finish"
  9. Select the device created in LightBurn from the device drop down tab
  10. Move/jog the machine (X or Y)  to test connection. The laser head should now be controlled via Lightburn.
