Connecting a MIRA/NOVA to Lightburn over a Direct Ethernet Connection

Modified on Fri, 4 Mar, 2022 at 9:48 AM

Preceding this walkthrough ensure that the WIFI module on the laser is disconnected.

In the bottom right of your desktop, you'll need to access your Network and Internet Settings.

Following that, we will need to access the Ethernet Settings

In the Ethernet settings, we will need to click on Change adapter Options

In your adapter settings, you'll need to right-click your Ethernet Adapter then select the Properties menu.

In your ethernet properties select Internet Protocol Version 4 and go to the properties

In these properties, you will see your IP address and the Default Gateway.

You may need to change some settings if your properties are set to automatically Obtain the IP address.

In that case, you can Select use following IP address and enter the same settings as I have below.

You will need to take note of what these are.

In your MIRA or NOVA go into your menu and select IP Configuration, You will want to change the Gateway to Match the Gateway of your PC and change the IP such that the first 3 numbers are the same but the last is different.

For example, if your IP is 192.168.0.107 the Laser could have an IP of 192.168.0.158

After your laser IP is set you can hook up the Ethernet and enter the new IP on Lightburn in your device setup.
