MIRA - testing the auto focus pin sensor

Modified on Mon, 02 May 2022 at 12:06 PM

We need to test the auto focus pin sensor.

Press Z/U on the controller key pad:

Navigate down the menu by pressing the down key on the key pad. Go to "Diagnoses":

Press ENTER on the key pad to access "Diagnoses":

On the "Diagnoses" screen, it will looks like this:

Push the auto focus pin UP with your finger so that the back of the pin would actuate the sensor (near the orange dot).
(the sensor being the black attachment on the laser head pointed to with the red arrow)

While holding the auto focus pin UP, press enter on the controller panel to click "read". You should see a red illuminated box appear on the "ZLimit -". YOU MAY NOT NEED TO CLICK "READ", AS THE CONTROLLER MAY PICK UP THE SIGNAL NATURALLY.

Release the auto focus pin and select "read" again on the controller display. The red illuminated box should turn grey. Do the above steps of testing the auto focus pin sensor over and over to insure the auto focus pin sensor is indeed working (by the red box illuminating on "ZLimit -"). YOU MAY NOT NEED TO CLICK "READ", AS THE CONTROLLER MAY PICK UP THE SIGNAL NATURALLY.
