LIGHTBURN - camera install and setup

The camera should be mounted on the inside of the lid, above the handle. Route the wire to the right side on the inside of the lid. Thread the camera wire through the channel pointed to in this picture:

Fish the camera wire to the other end of this channel and run it into the main frame of the machine (near the electronics):

Take off the right side panel to easily grab the camera cable into the frame of the machine. Drill a hole above the ESTOP button to pull the camera cable through:

In order to determine the minimum height for the camera to see your whole laser area, use the Camera Selection Help option in the Help menu in LightBurn.  It will tell you the minimum mounting height to see the entire area of your laser, given the size of it.  You then measure the height of your mounting location, and choose a camera that requires about 2" less height than that.

Note that there will always be a bit of image loss from undistorting the image, so you should always err slightly toward having a little extra room.

Documentation for setting up and using the camera can be found here: https://lightburnsoftware.github.io/NewDocs/UsingACamera.html

If you are using Windows 7, you might need to install a driver for the camera, which you can find here: https://forum.lightburnsoftware.com/t/windows-7-drivers-for-lightburn-camera/9658

We have a video walkthrough of the setup and calibration process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONnmCaoUkLQ

AEON lasers also has a video on setting up the Lightburn camera https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkq4MGq1daQ

The installation position of the camera should look something similar to this:
