The first thing that needs to be done before we can follow the instructions below is we need to connect the controller to a PC with WinNBI loaded onto it.
Select the ODM button outlined in the image below.
Access the secondary Y-axis gantry parameters and change the “Offset Between markers” parameters in “Physical Charateristics” to -1. The reason why we change it to -1 is because that is the calibration factor in the controller to help us determine the actual offset between the two servo motors on the Y-axis.
Once the parameter is changed click the save button, and then compile AMPS. The buttons are outlined below. Once the AMPs are compiled, shut down the system.
Adjust the diagonal of the machine by pushing one side of the gantry along its y-axis
Power on the machine and home it. Access the ODM (outlined in step 1) and record the real time offset between markers parameter for the y-axis.
Take the real time offset between the markers value recorded in step 5 and input it into the parameter outlined below (same parameter in step 2). Save and compile the AMPs. Once the AMPs are saved and compiled restart the machine and home it again. Do a test cut to test if the machine is squared.
Repeat the process until the machine is square.
