calibrator thickness adjustment

  1. Insert tool into spindle

  2. Slowly move the Z axis down to machine bed. 

  3. Once close to machine bed switch into stepping mode by pressing shift then adjust the step for Z axis to 0.010 by pressing OK moving highlighting the Z axis row and typing in the number.

  4. Move Z axis down until slightly above machine bed

  5. Change step mode again to 0.001

  6. Get a slip of paper and slide it underneath the tool bit and wiggle that back and forth until the paper gets pinched by lowering your Z axis.

  7. Press Z =0 button and switch to workplace coordinate system by pressing shift + 8 ( note workplace coordinate will appear with the number 1 beside the XYZ rows on the left and machine coordinates will have a * beside the XYZ rows on the left. 

  8. Raise the Z axis up again.

  9. Place calibrator puck under the spindle and perform steps 2 through 6 on top of the calibrator. 
    ATC move machine over top of tool calibrator and perform steps 2 through 6 on top of the calibrator. 

  10. Once this has been completed record the number in your Z axis position ( in workplace coordinates)

  11. Select the Menu button on your controller.

  12. Select 5. MNF peram (Password 33587550)

  13. Select 10. Cali thickness

  14. Type in the number recorded and press OK.
