Dust boot sensor check.

Modified on Fri, 6 Aug, 2021 at 12:32 PM

To confirm the function of your dust boot sensor please follow the steps below.

1. you will need to remove the dark grey case around your spindle. this can be done by removing the four or six bolts (depending on your model machine) on the left and right hand side of the spindle. ( see image below.)
2. Once you have removed these bolts pay attention to the cable track near the top of your spindle head as well as the button circled in green in the picture above. you will need to press the quick release button for the button in order to remove the button.

3. now that you have your spindle exposed look on the left hand side of your pneumatic dust boot for the dust boot sensor. with the machine on and the dust boot in the up position the RED LED light should be on. if it is not you can loosen the screw on the dust boot sensor and slide it up and down on the track until it lights up in red.

If it doesn't light up in red please take a video and send us the image. if you are noticing any additional issues while in  the spindle head area please send pictures and ask to confirm everything is correct. Please see the image below as an example of your dust boot sensor.
