"Help - my laser has no power!!!!!"

Modified on Mon, 24 Jan 2022 at 10:04 AM

1: Ensure there is power to the machine. (ie. lights on, motors moving)

2: Ensure the Water chiller has water and is running at the correct temp.

3: Ensure all safety sensors are working and are not stopping the laser from firing (Door sensor, Water chiller alarm) Use diagnoses screen to help troubleshoot.

4: Try pulsing the laser. If nothing comes out of nozzle.

- reduce the power on the controller to 10-15% then put a piece of doubled-up masking tape before mirror 3, Pulse again.

- If no mark, put a piece of doubled-up masking tape over mirror 2, pulse again.

- If no mark on this piece, put the tape in nfront of mirror 1, pulse again. If no mark on any piece of tape continue troubleshooting. If there was a mark on any piece of tape, re-align all mirrors.

5:  Check the laser tube. Look for cracks.

- turn the machine off to ensure the red/white wires on the end of the tube are still connected. Make sure the red wire (anode) has the red rubber cap over the end of the tube.

7: With your laser safety glasses on. Pulse the laser while indirectly looking at the tube, Ensure the laser arcs from anode to cathode.

8: Check the laser power supply (Black box usually on the left side of laser). Hold the pulse button and monitor the amperage screen.
