MIRA - testing limit / homing sensor

To test the homing/ limit sensor on your machine:


With your machine powered off, move the gantry to the middle of the bed. Turn on your machine. While your machine is turning on and the machine begins to home, keep pressing the ESC key. This will stop the homing procedure.

Get something metal like an allen key or coin:

Locate your Y homing sensor in the right back corner of your machine:

This is what the homing sensor looks like:


Press Z/U on the controller key pad:

Navigate down the menu by pressing the down key on the key pad. Go to "Diagnoses":

Press ENTER on the key pad to access "Diagnoses":

Place the allen key or coin (or any metal object on the Y homing sensor):

Look on the controller screen to see if the Y limit/ homing box illuminates red (as it should with a piece of metal on the homing sensor)



To test the X homing sensor, look under the gantry on the right side. There you will see the homing sensor. Test the X axis the same way as you tested the Y homing sensor:
