MIRA - leveling laser tube

Modified on Thu, 01 Sep 2022 at 10:11 AM

Can you please check the laser tube connection brackets in the back of your Mira for me? They have level graduations:

Please look at both the bracket and let me know if they are at the same measurement.

For instance, if both brackets look like they are at 80, or 70 or 60. This will let us know if the brackets are at the same height as one another.

To make it easier when adjusting the height via the thumb wheels (circled in red), you can loosen these bolts (circled in light blue) to take tension off the bracket base. Once you make your adjustments to both brackets to get them level, tighten the bolts again that your loosened off.

Once you have leveled the laser tube and have it shooting as close to the center of the 1st mirror housing, you can go ahead and align all your mirrors again. (to test that the laser tube is aimed properly at the first mirror housing, put a couple pieces of stacked painters tape on the first mirror housing and do a quick pulse to see where the laser tube beam is hitting.)

IF YOU NEED TO ADJUST THE LASER TUBE LEFT OR RIGHT:

Example of laser tube shooting off to the left of the opening in the mirror 1 housing:

You can do so by loosening these bolts (4 total per mount). Make sure to loosen all bolts and try and move the laser tube mounts equally for both mounts. Re-tighten bolts once you have the laser tube shooting as close to possible to the center of the mirror housing. After that, proceed with mirror alignment. Please keep in mind there are 2 total mounts for the laser tube but only one is pictured below.
