Measuring voltage for 24V DC power supply

Modified on Tue, 25 Jan 2022 at 10:20 AM

Do you have access to a digital multimeter? If so, can you please test the AC voltage going into that power supply and the DC voltage going out.

****PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN MEASURING VOLTAGE IN THE MACHINE AS THE MACHINE WOULD BE LIVE****

Set multimeter to AC voltage. (On the multimeter this is sometimes designated with a symbol of a "V" over top a "~".
Put the black probe of the multimeter going to the ground, or the arrow symbol on the power supply.
Next, measure the AC voltage with the red probe of the multimeter going to "L" on the power supply.
Please tell me what AC voltage you get.

Next, we need to check the DC voltage out.
Set multimeter to DC voltage. (On the multimeter this is sometimes designated with a symbol of a "V" over top a "-".
Put the black probe of the multimeter going to "V-" and measure the DC voltage with the red probe of the multimeter going to "V+" on the power supply.
Please tell me what DC voltage you get.
