1. home the machine by pressing shift and 7.
2. make sure the coordinate system is in machine home mode. (you can cycle between work and machine home by pressing shift and 8. X,Y,Z should read all 0 in machine home)
3. without a tool in the spindle move the spindle head over as close as possible in the X and Y position over the center of the tool fork. ( record the numbers of x and Y)
4. move the X axis + away from the tool fork insert a tool and lower the Z axis close to the height of the tool fork.
5. position the spindle close to the tool fork and change the machine into step mode by pressing shift. ( change step size by pressing OK and punching in 0.005 into the x,y and .001 into the z position.
6. move the machine slowly into the tool fork. once fully seated into the fork record all changes to the X and Y positions and record the Z axis position.
7. press the tool release button and move the spindle head off the tool and the tool fork Z+
8. once you have gotten the coordinates written down you will then need to go into the menu and 9. select 4. operator parameters
10. select 15. tool change
11. select 9. tool position
12 find the tool position number you have to change and punch in the recorded x,y,z axis coordinates you recorded.
13 press ESC and back out of the tool position. ( re enter the tool position to confirm numbers saved.)
14. move the spindle head away from the tool changer ( far side of the table)
15. run a tool change operation ( ensure that your hand is on the E stop in case of an error occurring.
repeat the steps as necessary to ensure the best result for the tool position.
