MASSO - Upgrading from V4.01 to V5.0 (V5.03)

Modified on Tue, 30 Jan 2024 at 09:48 AM

When upgrading from Masso version V4.01 to V5.0, we unfortunately can not just import our Masso machine settings file into Masso V5.0. It will not register your old settings properly when trying to load a Masso V4.01 setting.HTG file into Masso V5.0

THOUGH IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO STILL"SAVE TO FILE" SO THAT YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR V4.01 SETTINGS IN CASE YOU NEED TO REVERT.

For the printable file:

What you need to do is save your "printable file". You will use this text file to follow and input your Masso settings manually into the F1 setup page of Masso V5.0

To save your printable file of your Masso V4.01:

  • -Ensure your Flash drive is formatted to Fat32
    - 1. Go to F1 screen on Masso controller
    - 2. Click or double tap (G3 touch) the "save & load calibration settings"
  • -Click "save to file" and your configuration will be saved to your USB (circled in red) (we may not need this file)
  • -Click "save printable file" and a text version of your configuration will be saved to your USB (circled in red)
  • (THIS PRINTABLE FILE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FILE - put this on your computer somewhere safe)

*Also go into your F3 jog and probing screen. Write down the 1. probing feedrate and 2. Z offset. You will need to put these values into Masso V5.0 probing screen.

****NOTE: YOUR F4 WORK OFFSETS AND TOOL TABLE WILL ALSO NOT TRANSFER OVER. SO PLEASE MAKE NOTES OF YOUR F4 TOOLS AND WORK OFFSET SCREEN.

AS WELL, TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR F1 TOOL CHANGER > LINEAR TOOL CHANGER (TYPE 2) *DOUBLE CLICK TO ENTER THIS* PAGE SO THAT YOU HAVE ALL YOUR X AND Y LOCATIONS FOR TOOL CHANGES.

To put new software version(s) on your Masso controller, follow these instructions:

  • -Ensure your USB lash drive is formatted to Fat32
  • -Create a folder called MASSO on the USB flash drive and copy the V5.0 software file you obtained for Masso myWorkshop
  • -On powering the MASSO, immediately press the F1 key repeatedly until the MASSO software load screen appears.-
  • -(for Masso G3 touch) On powering the MASSO, tap the screen repeatedly until the MASSO software load screen appears. If the software load screen does not appear re-power MASSO and start again.  load screen appears.
  • -If the software load screen does not appear re-power MASSO and start again.
  • -The screen on Masso should show up asking you to use up and down keys to select the software version (located on USB)
  • -Press enter key to select the proper Masso software version
  • -Once the new software loads, press the ESC key to use the new Masso software

Using printable file to populate all your settings manual into your new Masso V5.0:

Use this printable file and go through your F1 setup page in Masso and populate all the settings, inputs, and outputs manually.

Masso printable file EXAMPLE:

SCROLL down through that entire printable document to view all your settings.

Once you have put all these settings into your new V5.0 of Masso F1 Setup page, your CNC should be ready to use again.
